About

The blog, ’emBody Sociology’ is a class project that serves to add to the discussion of the production and regulation of marginalized bodies, and to identify the violent consequences that follow them in their maintenance, deconstruction and defiance. emBody Sociology also serves the public with an opportunity to learn from/with the author and his interpretations of the course content in open access. With the guidance of intersectional feminist and late/postmodern theories, emBody Sociology strives to commit public sociology.

The author of this blog is in his final year of study in a Bachelor of Arts program at a smaller university in Western Canada. The author also carries a significant amount of first-hand experiences through which the topics of this course and blog will have relevance. These experiences include being queer, racialized, raised as an immigrant child, and fat among others.
